In this video, Dr. Roshi Satija is explaining about HSG and Hysterosalpingography. HSG (Tube Test) is the basic test to check the patency of the tubes whether the tubes are blocked or open. HSG is a radiological procedure in which x-ray films are taken to demonstrate the endometrial cavity & spill of dye from the fimbrial end of both tubes. HSG has the advantage of being cost effective, OPD procedure which is done without anaesthesia. Side effect of HSG can be pain abdomen, allergy to dye, spotting or mild bleeding . It also pin points the site of tubal block & outlines the endometrial cavity. The confirm test to check for tubal patency is by laparoscopy.
